Let the rally begin.

On Monday breakfast was being served in the main meeting room known as the Bass room. 8am was breakfast time and at 9am we all assembled outside the Bass room for the daily muster. Today we were going to the Phillip Island wildlife park.

The park was only a ten minute walk across the road from the resort. Unfortuantly I got to the park and realised I had left my entry ticket back in my room, so it was back to the resort again to get the ticket. We spent about 2 1/2 at the park before having the afternoon to relax and do as we pleased.

The wildlife park had an amazing array of animals, ranging from kangaroo's dingo's, echidnas, wombats and some of the most beautiful birds. Many of the kangaroos & wallabies were able to be hand fed.

After visiting the park I decided to go for a drive to South Melbourne to visit "Bumper Action Amusemements" an arcade and Pinball shop who are the Australian distributors for the new "Wizard of OZ" Pinball machine due to be released by Jersey Jack Pinball later this year

. I spent most of the afternoon there, playing that pinball and other machines they had there. I ha planned to be back at the resort by 6pm for the dinner night, but got side tracked and didn't leave Melbourne till 4:30pm. By this time I was battling the Melbourne traffic in my 1934 Packard. Least to say it was an interesting drive back.

I knew I was going to be late for the pizza night and whilst filling up the car with fuel, I thought i'd fill up my stomach as well. I eventually got back to the resort just after 7pm.

Thinking I had missed out on all the fun & food it turned oujtthat the staff had dropped 4 pizzas which were meant to feed the people at that night and hence they didn't have as much pizza as expected and when the pizzas did arrive they were snatched up before the pizza had time to cool. I was glad I had eaten on the way home.

The rest of the night was spent mingling amongst people and talking about cars, mainly packards. By 9:30 everyone had retired to therir rooms ready for another big day tomorrow
