13th National Rally

Southern Highlands - Mittagong

Day 1 was an 8:30 start with everyone gathering to listen to the days plan. First stop only a short drive to view the remains of Australia's first Iron Foundary in Mittagong. This is located in the woolworths underground carpark. Isn't it amazing what you can find in a woolworths car park... I didn't get to see much of the Iron Foundary as I spent most the time talking to people who I hadn't seen since the last rally. Though, it did loolk very interesting the parts I did get to see.

From there, we drove to Don Bradman Oval & Museum. I had the pleasure of driving Russ James 56 400. What a great car :-)

At the museum we enjoyed a talk about the history of Don Bradman and a tour of the museum followed by lunch (which Russ & myself missed). The afternoon was spent playing a nice friendly game of cricket. Luckily no cricket balls and Packards met
