CLUB RALLIES & EVENTS

Apr 6     Shannon’s American Motor Show – Flemington Racecourse (Members’ carpark). Enter via Epsom Road (Melways 28 H12. Proceed to the designated Packard area on arrival at the venue. Gates open for display cars from 8:30 to 11:00 am and for spectators at 10:00 am. Show closes at 3:30 pm. Entry fee of $10 for each display car and $10 for spectators. Children are free. There will be food stalls and entertainment for the children, as well as the opportunity to see a large number of cars of various makes and vintages.


May 18     Werribee Park (National Motoring Heritage Day)  –  Meet at Shell Service Stn, Cnr Geelong and Aviation Rds, Laverton at 10:00 am. Werribee Park is an outstanding historic and cultural attraction offering an authentic insight into Australia 's richly diverse history. Located just 30 minutes from central Melbourne , the property features a superbly restored 1870s mansion, ten hectates of exquisite formal gardens, the internationally acclaimed Victoria State Rose Garden, contemporary sculpture walk, tranquil riverine, original farmyard and specialised tours. Admission: Adult $13, Concession $8, Children $7, Family $31

June 7-9     Border Run 2008 – Berri, South Australia.  Venue: The Berri Resort Hotel, phone (08) 8582 0161. 20 rooms are reserved for the Packard Club., so book in early, then let Rob Trembath know you have booked. (Email robtrembath@mac.com or phone (08) 8344 3554). The area has lots of interesting places to see and the Border Runs are always a lot of fun and a great way to keep in contact with fellow Packardians.

Aug 31?     Federation Picnic - Marong Oval – meet opposite the main entrance at 10:45 a.m. A great day out in the country where you can see unusual and exciting cars that rarely appear at other meets we attend. Bring your picnic or BBQ and join with other visitors in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.

Sept 21     The Kerrisdale Mountain Railway.  Meet at the venue at 10:30 am.  The KMR is situated in the north east corner of the Tallarook Ranges, north central Victoria, on the Goulbourn Valley Highway between Semour and Yea. It is a unique railway built to two foot (610 mm) gauge on a zig -zag formation.  To gain the maximum height within the shortest distance, steep grades and tight curves also abound.  The railway and museum has been developed by a group of dedicated volunteers over a twelve year period.
PLEASE NOTE;   rolling stock consists of open and semi open carriages, weather can be variable, and change from 'Bottom Points' to 'Summit Station', therefore, for your comfort we suggest you be prepared.  The property is a wildlife sanctuary, with many species of native birds and mammals free ranging. Admission: Adult $15, Concession $12; Child $10.

Oct ?     Cadillac / Packard Challenge – Date to be confirmed. Mornington Food and Wine Festival, Main Street and Mornington Park, Mornington. Counting of cars will be done at 1:15 pm and presentations at 1:30 pm so all can arrange their other activities accordingly.

Nov 8th     AGM  - BBQ  - Lee & john King’s place, 8 Cloverlea Drive, Kilsyth (telephone 9728 6346). Arrive mid morning for a BBQ lunch(BYO), or bring your sandwiches if you prefer. The AGM and quarterly meeting will be run after lunch.
